Easy Ways to Style 2018's Most Popular Trend: Stripes!
Stripes are everywhere this season! They have always existed in the fashion world but lately the patterns seem to be trendier, more colorful, and more fun to style. Whether they’re vertical, horizontal, or diagonal, stripes are becoming one of the most popular prints to wear in 2018. Hey, I ain’t complaining, I still have a bunch of striped tops/bottoms in my closets that I’m glad I hadn’t thrown out couple years ago. And honestly that’s why I love about fashion, there’s really no such thing as “going out of style”, it will always come back! With stripes being so prominent this season, I want to share just a few trendy ways to style this pattern in your everyday outfits.
VERTICAL STRIPES
Vertical stripe pattern looks good on EVERYTHING! Tops, pants, jeans...heck, if you go all matchy-matchy or just head to toe full on vertical striped, you would be the coolest person in the room! I especially love vertical striped blouses. The pattern is so easy to style, you can just wear the blouse with a pair of jeans and still look like you've tried!
I am wearing one of my favorite stripe shirt from Nasty Gal (Currently on sale for only $14 Here!). I just love the ruffle detailing on the sleeves and of course, that red stripe design! The shirt is a little oversized but fits nicely and comfortably. My jeans are from anthropologie (Sold out but similar HERE and HERE) and they fit my legs really well! For accessories, I am wearing Monogram skinny belt from Gucci, a straw bag from Urban Outfitters, and a pair of aviator sunglasses from Ray Ban. Of course, I have to wear my leather mules from Sam Edelman (on sale for $69 HERE!) to make myself look taller :D
Check out my last post - it's also about stripes, but this time, Candy Stripes!
STRIPES ON STRIPES
Remember when I said you're gonna be the coolest person in the room if you ever decided to wear head-to-toe stripes? And you will! But it doesn't have to be a matching set, I actually love to mix & match the stripe patterns sometimes when creating different looks!
For this look, I decided to go all beige but also play with that "stripes on stripes" concept. My oversized tunic was from H&M few years ago (Similar Style HERE & HERE) and my trousers are from Mango (Similar Style HERE & HERE). I love the contrast between horizontal stripes and criss-cross stripes! I also love the how this pair of trousers has a metal hoop as a decoration - so many people have asked me whenever I wear this if that hoop is for a key chain....why can't I just wear a metal hoop as a decor? XD
I think this is definitely a cool look that you can rock for work or after work happy hour! "Tone-down playful" as I would say.
I made a Lookbook on my YouTube Channel on this look and more! Check it out here: https://youtu.be/eBDJL2-XTVA
