A Summer Date Night Outfit That Doesn't Try Too Hard

I always love casual date nights! Especially in the summer when you can sit outside, drink wine, people watch, and just enjoy the weather. It's also the perfect time to dress cute without layers and layers of sweaters or coats. Picking an outfit for this occasion could be difficult though. You want to look sexy for your date but you also don't want to wear an outfit that makes you sweat like crazy! That's why outfit choice is so important, you want something flowy and breezy that doesn't attract the heat. 

I think silky or linen shorts are your best friends when it comes to summer dates! They are so comfortable, easy to wear, and best of all, you don't even have to try too hard to look cute! I especially love shorts that are kinda loose or flowy at the bottom like the ones I wear here (either flutter shorts or silky shorts). The ruffles at the bottom help make my legs look longer and also compliment my curves. The high waisted shorts also help accentuate my waist.

For tops, I usually go for lacey, romantic blouses for date nights. I think lace is the perfect element to bring out that feminine side of yours! This top from Anthropologie is the perfect example. It has the lace detail and the cutout at the back that I just love! The back also has an adjustable belt so you can decide how loose or how tight you want the top to be. I love pairing black accessories just to balance out the soft, girly feel with that cool girl vibe! Wearing slip-ons instead of heels like this one can bring the edginess to the outfit. This little bucket bag from Kamilah Willacy is also a great accessory for a date night outfit!
